My name is Joe Rodi, 59, and I have been the National Auction Manager at JP Morgan Chase for the past 19 years. But this is not about cars, this is about raising cancer awareness for the many men out there, like me, who thought it couldn’t happen to them.
After my regular annual check-up in 2018, which included the monitoring of my PSA levels, and a follow-up biopsy, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Although cancer has been an unfortunate part of my family history, I was still shocked. Lucky for me, the T.J. Martell Foundation immediately came to my aid and assisted me with finding the right oncologist who helped me make a full recovery. As a prostate cancer survivor, I was determined to lend my time, effort and association with the auto auction industry to help the Foundation raise funds for research. So, Rally with Rodi was created and raised more than $175,000 the first year! In 2019, Rally to Fight Cancer is in full force to promote early detection and fund prostate cancer research.
It also gives me a great opportunity to ask you to show your support for me, and for the tireless work of the T.J. Martell Foundation, an amazing organization that has raised more than $280 million dollars since 1975 to fund innovative medical research focused on finding treatments and cures for cancer.
Please wear the 2019 Rally to Fight Cancer wristband, courtesy of Manheim Auto Auctions, to show your support as we rally together to beat prostate cancer, not just for me, but for the generations to follow. Please remember, if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. Go get your PSA checked!
